I love homemade peanut butter and like to make it fresh each week. I also love that you can choose how crunchy you want it! Homemade Peanut Butter

1 cup, organic unsalted peanuts (it’s best to buy raw and roast them yourself- in the over at 170 degrees Celsius for 20 mins or until the skin comes off easily). Most store bought peanuts have been roasted in oil, usually a seed oil that is rancid, not a healthy oil at all
1-2 tbsp of either peanut oil, olive oil or coconut oil (melted)

1) Put all ingredients into a blade blender and blend until a paste has formed. You may have to stop the blender a few times to stir the mixture. It should take about 3-4 minutes to form a paste. Add some extra nuts at the end for extra crunchy!

How long of a shelf life does this have? What kind of oil did you use?

    • Amanda says:

      Hi Stephanie,

It lasts for about 2-3 weeks on the shelf, in an air tighter jar. Will last a bit longer in the fridge. I prefer to make smaller batches so that it is always fresh 🙂

Hi there, what do you mean by the skin? Do you mean the shell or that darker brown bit thats around the nut?

    • Amanda says:

      Hi Matt,

The shell is the hard part, I usually by them already de-shelled! The skin is the thin dark covering under the shell, after roasting it should easily slip off.
