TAHINI BALLS

These are great for on the go. They are very lightly sweetened so they make a nutritious snack and no baking is required making them quick to prepare.

Ingredients, makes 12 balls

1/2 cup organic un-hulled tahini (there’s is more fibre in un-hulled). Or use my homemade tahini 

1/2 cup organic almond meal

1/8 cup organic coconut nectar, honey or brown rice syrup

1/2 cup organic shredded coconut

3 tbsp organic sesame seeds

1/4 tsp orgainc unrefined sea salt

Method 

1) Combine all ingredients, (apart from the sesame seeds) into a bowl and mix well

2) Roll mixture into 12 balls (each ball can be around 1 large tbsp in size), then roll each in the sesame seeds

3) Place into an airtight container and store into the fridge

      Hi Nicole,

      You can purchase it from health food stores. Tahini you can get from the health food section of the supermarket too. I buy my agave from ‘Loving Earth’ they are a Melbourne, Australian based brand who have great chocolate and other products too. Here’s their website http://www.lovingearth.net

    Is there anything else that can be used as a substitute for agave?

      Hi Cristina,

      You can use honey or maple syrup instead! Make sure it’s raw, un-pasteurised honey though, that way the nutrients have not been destroyed by the heat of pasteurisation. And B grade maple syrup has the most nutrients.
