MY PASSION IS YOGA….WHAT’S YOURS?
We all know how important including exercise into our everyday life is. Take the stairs instead of the lift, walk down to the shops instead of driving and the list goes on. These are all great ways of making your day more active and please, do continue to do them. But what is the best way to actually exercise, what ‘should’ our workout consist of. Going to the gym is probably the first thing that comes to mind when you think about doing a workout. It’s a great place to use cardio machines, lift some weight or take a group class and these are all great forms of exercise. However, it’s not the only way you will achieve the results you’re after. There are many ways to exercise that will improve your overall fitness both inside and out. I believe the key to reaching your goals is to find an exercise that you love. You want to wake up every morning or come home from work excited to get a workout in. There are SO many forms of exercise and once you have found the one you love, you will never look back and you will be inspired to exercise. For example, running or biking outdoors are great for cardiovascular training. Using your own body weight or purchasing you own free weight to use at home are great ways to build strength. Attending a boot-camp class is great for motivation and joining a sports club like tennis, soccer or basketball are really fun ways to exercise. The list goes on!
I have tried many forms of exercise and have found my passion. I am in love with power flow vinyasa yoga. It’s fantastic for toning your entire body, gives you a great stretch routine and is good cardio too. But most of all it makes me feel amazing, both mind and body. I finish every class feeling fitter, stronger and less stressed. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I felt stressed. I practice yoga 4-5 times a week and look forward to it every time. I also go for a run 1-2 times a week or do the 1,000 steps in Ferntree Gully for some higher intense cardio and I love to go on long walks or hikes with my husband.
So explore different forms of exercise and find your passion, what is important to you. It will never be hard to get motivated again once you have!
