Homemade hummus is really simple to make. It freezes well so making it in bulk and storing it in the freezer can be quite handy. It makes a great dip and goes nicely with salads and on burgers.

Ingredients, makes about 6 cupsHomemade Hummus

4 cups organic chickpeas. It is best to use dry beans, soak them for 24 hours and then cook them in the slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours

1/2 cup organic tahini, here is my homemade recipe

The juice from 2 large lemons

2 cloves organic garlic

1 tsp himalayan salt

4 tbsp organic extra virgin olive oil

1 tsp organic ground cumin

1) Put all ingredients, apart from the oil, into a food processor and blend until smooth. Once smooth, turn the processor on again, blend whilst gradually adding the oil
