The chickpeas make this slice extra moist, lots of chocolate goodness here!IMG_1304

1 1/2 cups organic chickpeas. It’s best to use ones that have been properly prepared, this gets rid of phytic acid, a substance which can cause mineral deficiency. Soak the chickpeas overnight (with a little salt) and then cook on low in slow cooker for 6 hours.

1/3 cup organic cacao powder

3/4 cup organic desiccated coconut

1/2 cup organic expeller pressed virgin coconut oil

1/8-1/4 cup organic raw honey, B grade maple syrup or for a fructose free version use brown rice syrup.  Leave out the sweetener for a healthy snack

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp Himalayan salt

1) On very low heat, if needed, melt coconut oil

2) Blend chickpeas until they form a paste

3) Mix all ingredients together

4) Press mixture into a brownie tray and put in fridge until set, at least one hour. Slice and store in air tight container in the fridge
